Young Hammer [Callum Marshall](https://www.claretandhugh.info/fingers-crossed-for-callum-marshall-today/) was on target for Huddersfield on Saturday as The Terriers pulled back to snatch a 2-2 draw from being two goals down. The Northern Ireland International appeared as a late substitute and grabbed the equaliser in the last minutes to win praise from his manager.
According to [_yorkshirepost.co.uk_](https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/the-northern-ireland-boys-got-us-out-of-trouble-huddersfield-town-boss-michael-duff-on-brodie-spencer-and-callum-marshall-4909839) ,his manager Michael Duff summed up the young Hammer’s performance: _“That’s the best Callum has looked for quite a while. He was clean in his hold-up play and looked a threat and took the physicality well. No-one has ever questioned his finishing ability.”_
At twenty years old, Marshall should be maturing physically and kicking on with his career: He has big ambitions to make it in the West Ham senior squad but has had to ‘reset’ this year after a disastrous loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, getting virtually zero game time.
Already a full Northern Ireland International, getting time on the pitch this season is vital in what could well be his ‘make or break’ season with West Ham needing to decide whether to keep or sell.
Good to see this year – long loan is getting him more game time and experience.
Huddersfield lie fourth in third tier League One: Whether young Marshall will ever scale the heights to make it in the Premier League is beginning to look less likely: However, he will certainly put himself in a strong position if his loan is deemed successful and he helps the Yorkshire team make it into the Championship.
