Brentford players make Christmas visits to the community

Last week, a selection of Brentford players paid special visits to the community ahead of the festive period.

Among the activities was a visit to West Middlesex University Hospital. Ben Mee, Kristoffer Ajer and Mathias Jensen visited the Osterley Ward for adults. Josh Dasilva, Paris Maghoma and Freddie Taylor met with children in the hospital’s Paediatric Ward.

The players handed out Christmas gifts to young patients, as well as merchandise to adults on the ward and hospital staff. The players also had the opportunity to take part in the hospital’s Christmas party, taking place in the children’s ward.

Elsewhere in the local area, Yehor Yarmoliuk, Ryan Trevitt, Ji-Soo Kim and Matt Cox visited the Hounslow Community Foodbox. The Foodbox is a volunteer-run registered charity that provides emergency food, support and advice to people living in the borough of Hounslow.

Foodbanks are particularly busier during the winter period and, unfortunately, many people who are struggling turn to organisations like Hounslow Community FoodBox for food and essentials.

The players were given a tour of the FoodBox, which is located in Rose Community Centre. They spoke to the volunteers about their work and were able to assist with packing orders.

Brentford’s head of community operations, Jon Burr said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for some and it’s important we help those who may need some extra support.

"The players were pleased to be out in the local area to meet key organisations, volunteers and staff who continue providing valuable services to our community throughout the festive period and beyond.”
