Marc Cucurella breaks silence after bizarre Chelsea red card as unified dressing room message sent

Several Chelsea players have shared the thoughts of the dressing room after the club closed the gap at the top of the Premier League.

The Blues claimed a 2-1 win against Brentford on Sunday evening to move to two points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Marc Cucurella, who was later sent off in the win at Stamford Bridge, and Nicolas Jackson scored the decisive goals for Chelsea to secure the precious three points.

Enzo Maresca's side will now look ahead to facing Everton in the Premier League next weekend, as their hopes of challenging for the title continue amid the festive season. The win over Brentford saw several Chelsea stars take to social media to express their thoughts and emotions. One such player was Tosin Adarabioyo, who issued a message on his Instagram story to the Blues faithful.

"Our team is unified," wrote Adarabioyo. "We share the same vision; W." Both of the goalscorers, Cucurella and Jackson, also posted on Instagram after the win over the Bees. Jackson wrote a four-word message that highlighted the togetherness of the Chelsea squad. "We keep going team," wrote Jackson.

Cucurella's message echoed that of Jackson's as the defender looked ahead to the next run of fixtures. "Good win at home to finish off the week! We go again," wrote Cucurella.

Robert Sanchez also had a message for Chelsea fans after the victory over Brentford, which saw the Blues extend their winning run in all competitions to seven matches, including the last five in the Premier League.

"Sunday nights at Stamford Bridge," wrote Sanchez. "Great win, support and another three points to keep our momentum going!"

Chelsea will now prepare to face Shamrock Rovers in their UEFA Conference League on Thursday night, before returning to Premier League action next weekend against Everton in their final match before Christmas.
