Barcelona’s recent run of results in La Liga has been abysmal and not enough is being spoken about it only because of the flying start they enjoyed to life under Hansi Flick between August and October.
After a euphoric month in October, the team saw a serious slump in November which the manager himself described as a forgettable month. Unfortunately, however, December is not turning out to be much different.
In their last six La Liga games, Barcelona have recorded just one win, two draws and three defeats and have thus accumulated just five of their last 18 available points.
When was the last time?
Despite dropping 13 points in their last six games, Barcelona are on top of the league table – level on points with Atletico Madrid and one point ahead of Real Madrid, having played one extra game.
The last time the club saw the exact same run of results, it saw the end of Ronald Koeman as the manager of Barcelona and brought Xavi Hernandez in as a replacement.

The streak came back between October and November 2021 when Barcelona had the exact same run – one win, two draws and three defeats in six games.
Having lost against Las Palmas, Leganes and Real Sociedad, Barcelona have practically given away any advantage they held in the title race and now stare at an uphill task. After all, they face Atletico Madrid next.
Despite the positive start to the season under Hansi Flick, it must be noted that Barça have exactly the same number of points as they did after 18 games under Xavi Hernandez last season.
Barcelona have been relatively better in the UEFA Champions League and it is clear that fatigue is the hurdle dragging them down in the marathon La Liga.
Needless to say, the manager must look to stabilise the ship before it is too late.
