‘Pressing for weeks’ to sign Chelsea player – Decision to make with Maresca on future

Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei has found it a struggle to get regular game time at the club since his arrival in the summer of 2022.

He’s played only 16 games for Chelsea and is yet to play even once in the Premier League this season.

This has sparked talk about his exit and Serie A side Monza were said to be looking to sign the midfielder as soon as the January widow opens. The feeling was that their talks had been progressing.

A new side has joined the race and Alfredo Pedulla has reported that the club in question is Lazio, who tried to sign Casadei before he was loaned out to Leicester City in the summer of 2023.

The report states that while Monza have been ‘pressing for weeks’ to land the 21-year-old on loan next month, he has several offers on the table.

The Roman club could come forward for him in January, as they look for a new midfielder.

His priority right now is to find more game time and all of it depends on how Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca uses him, having also managed him during their time together at Leicester City.
