Ipswich Town match-winner Jack Taylor says the Blues are relishing their Christmas run against some of the best sides in the Premier League.

Midfielder Taylor came off the bench to head a dramatic winner at the death as Town beat Wolves 2-1 on Saturday.

Taylor's goal came from a Jack Clarke corner, with the 26-year-old revealing it's something the team have been working on.

“We knew this league was going to be fine margins,” Taylor explained. “Unfortunately we have come up against it in the last three or four games.

“We’re delighted for it to go in the other end. Another dangerous set piece, which we have been good at lately. We have been doing a lot of work on the training pitch.

“We knew it was going to be fine margins. Thankfully it’s gone our way today.”

They host moneybags Newcastle United on Saturday - without suspended star striker Liam Delap - before travelling to giants Arsenal on Friday, December 27th (8.15pm) and hosting much-improved Chelsea on Monday, December 30th (7.45pm).

It doesn't get any easier to start 2025 either, with Fulham (A), Brighton (H), Manchester City (H) and Liverpool (A) comprising their top tier fixtures in January.

“There are going to be changes and everyone is going to be needed at some point. It’s a good thing for everyone in my opinion.

“We’re looking forward to it. We’ve got a tough set of fixtures just past Christmas, but we’re looking forward to it.

“It’s what we become professionals for, games like this.”
