Wigan Athletic boss Shaun Maloney has praised Nottingham Forest loan star Dale Taylor for his performance against Bolton Wanderers and thinks that player deserved his goal for working incredibly hard.
The 21-year-old forward joined Wigan on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest and has impressed Maloney to seal a place in the starting line-up.
On Saturday, Taylor scored an 18th minute goal against Wigan’s rivals Bolton Wanderers and helped the team secure a 2-0 victory in the derby.
Maloney stated that the Forest loanee was outstanding in the game and admitted that Taylor has been very good for them since joining, even though the centre forward has not scored regularly
He pointed out that Taylor deserved his goal against Bolton because of the hard work he has put in for Wigan.
“I thought Dale was brilliant all day”, Maloney told Wigan Athletic’s official media.
“He has been very good for us; without scoring six, seven, or eight goals, he has actually been very good for the team.
“He was outstanding today and he deserved every bit of that goal because he works incredibly hard.”
Taylor has featured 16 times for Wigan this season and the Nottingham Forest forward has three goals and four assists under his belt.
