Real Madrid will reportedly compete with Bayern Munich to sign 19-year-old German midfield sensation Tom Bischof from Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tom Bischof is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The TSG Hoffenheim midfield sensation is also a target for Bayern Munich. However, Los Blancos will look to beat the Bundesliga giants to the 19-year-old prodigy, who they view as the long-term successor to Toni Kroos.
Who is Tom Bischof?
Tom Bischof has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since breaking into the first-team squad at TSG Hoffenheim. A native of Aschaffenburg, the teenage prospect has spent his formative years thus far in Germany, starting his youth career at TSV Amorbach but graduating from the academy at TSG Hoffenheim.
While the 19-year-old secured some game time in the last two seasons, he has become a regular in the middle of the park for Hoffenheim this term. Bischof has chipped in with two goals and two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Bischof’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich will look to sign the German midfield sensation next year, but Real Madrid will aim to beat Die Roten to his signature.
A big move on the cards?
Bayern Munich’s interest in Tom Bischof is understandable. The Bundesliga heavyweights are scouring the market for a midfielder amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich. While Bayern Munich will look to tie Kimmich to a new deal, Goretzka’s spell might end next year, even though he does not want to leave in January.
As for Real Madrid, Toni Kroos has left a gaping hole in the midfield department since calling time on his illustrious career. So, they have set their sights on the TSG Hoffenheim wonderkid, hoping to land Kroos’s long-term successor.
The report does not mention a price tag, but a cut-price January move might be possible unless Hoffenheim can tie the 19-year-old German midfield sensation to a new contract. With his current deal expiring, Bischof is an attractive target for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
