William Gallas Makes Bold Claim About Mo Salah's Potential Return To Chelsea

Chelsea should turn down the chance to recruit Liverpool winger Mo Salah if he becomes available on a free transfer next summer, according to William Gallas.

Speaking to Prime Casino (via The Express), Gallas said that re-signing the Egyptian international would cause disharmony inside the dressing room:

“I think Chelsea should reject the chance to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer, I think he would be a disruption on the squad.”

“The current Chelsea team are all learning and growing together and it’s working for Enzo Maresca. They are all part of a generation with no big egos, despite Cole Palmer being the focal point.”

“I think bringing in a player like Salah wouldn’t be good for the balance of the squad, despite his form in the Premier League and how it would weaken Liverpool.”

Will Salah leave Liverpool?

The 32-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of June and no agreement has so far been reached over an extension.

Salah has even spoken out to state that he has not even been formally offered a new deal, although that is thought to have changed over the past few days. Even so, his departure from Anfield remains a possibility.

Chelsea have plenty of options on the right flank

Despite Salah’s undoubted prowess, the Blues are unlikely to sign the Egyptian for a second time due to his age and wage demands. The club now have a policy of recruiting young players on modest salaries and long contracts.

You also have to consider the options Enzo Maresca has at his disposal. In addition to the likes of Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke, Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian will arrive from Palmeiras in the next six months.
