Real Madrid target wants to stay and renew with current club, reveals agent

In recent weeks, AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are in the market for reinforcements in the position.

It is no secret that the Merengues have their sights set on a move for Alphonso Davies, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.

However, recent reports have suggested that the deal for the Canadian left-back might fall through with Bayern pushing for his renewal and making some progress.

As such, links to Theo, who left Los Blancos for Milan back in 2019, surfaced, especially with the French international’s contract expiring in 2026 and alleged problems with the manager Paulo Fonseca, who has benched him in recent games.

It was even suggested that Theo could be available for a fee of around €50 million as early as January or in the summer.

Theo’s agent shuts down exit talks

However, in a recent interaction with the media, Manuel Garcia Quilon, has shut down talks of a possible exit, insisting that the defender intends to stay and renew with AC Milan.

Quilon met with the Rossoneri management after their 0-0 draw against Genoa but stated that the meeting was not to discuss Theo’s renewal.

“We didn’t talk about renewal but about fiscal matters,” said Quilon, as quoted by Sky Sport Italia.

But clarifying their intention to continue in Milano, he added: “The clear will is to stay and renew, we have said this many times.”

Regarding Fonseca’s decision to bench Theo in recent matches, Quilon played down talks of any rift, saying:

“These are not decisions that are his responsibility. He respects his teammates and when one player plays in one role, the other doesn’t play. It also happened to Leao, you have to respect the coach’s choices.”
