Chelsea have seen their title chances boosted by Opta's Supercomputer after their 2-1 win over Brentford on Sunday night.

Not many would have picked the Blues to be sat in the Premier League's top four at Christmas but, after beating the Bees, Enzo Maresca's side have solidified their spot.

As well as a potential place in the Champions League next year, the Blues have also been tipped to challenge leader Liverpool for the title.

Maresca has repeatedly insisted that his side are not yet ready to battle for the league however, Opta's Supercomputer has suggested otherwise.

With Liverpool, Arsenal and City all dropping points, the software has calculated that Chelsea's likelihood of winning the league went from 2.8 per cent up to 5.5 per cent.

Though it's a small percentage compared to their league rivals, it sees their chances nearly double after the successful matchweek.

However, league leaders Liverpool are still the favourites to clinch the Premier League title

As a result, the west London giants have overtaken holders Man City - who now have a remarkably low 1.9 per cent chance of winning the title.

This comes after Pep Guardiola's suffered yet another defeat - marking just one win in their last 11 matches - at the hands of rivals Man United on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have seen a 1.2 per cent dip in their chances of clinching the title after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Everton on Saturday.

According to the Supercomputer, the Gunners now have a 10.6 per cent chance compared to their 11.8 per cent prior to the weekend's fixtures.

However, as it stands, Liverpool are by far the frontrunners to win the title and boast a staggering 82 per cent chance of winning the league.

As it stands, Arne Slot's side are just two points clear of Chelsea however have a game in hand after the Merseyside derby was postponed.

Despite the Supercomputer's latest calculations, Maresca insisted - after their win over Brentford - that his side are not ready to compete for the title.

As reported by The Mirror, Maresca said: 'No matter how many games we win, I think we are not ready to compete for the title.

The Blues are just two points off the top of the table after a sensational start to the season

'One of the reasons why is that the team that knows how to compete to win titles, they won't concede goals we concede. A team that knows how to win titles, that is not a goal they know how to concede.'

'Just two teams have conceded less than us. Defensively we're not doing bad. We'd like to end with a clean sheet but there's another team trying to score.'

As Maresca alludes to, Chelsea have only conceded 19 goals in the league this season, with Arsenal (15) and Liverpool (13) the only teams to have conceded fewer.
