The plans of La Liga champions Real Madrid to make the trip to Qatar have encountered a hitch this afternoon.
That’s according to **[Diario AS](https://as.com/futbol/primera/una-averia-en-el-avion-retrasa-al-madrid-n/)**, who have provided an insight into the situation.
Real Madrid are of course primed to fly out to the Middle East today, ahead of facing off with Mexican giants Pachuca in the final of the Intercontinental Cup on Wednesday.
Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, in turn, convened earlier this afternoon, ahead of boarding their flight and jetting off for Lusail.
With the players and staff already on board, however, an issue was discovered in the aircraft’s cargo hold.
All were in turn requested to disembark, with AS having confirmed that Real are now awaiting the arrival of a new plane in Madrid.
All told, the hiccup is understood to have set Los Blancos back around three hours, far from a disaster, but not exactly the start to their trip which Ancelotti and co. would have been hoping for.
