EXCLUSIVE with Graeme Bailey
Dele Alli could begin his football comeback with a move to Como in January – after his switch from Tottenham to Everton failed to yield much success.
The England international left Spurs for Goodison Park back in January 2022 while Antonio Conte was at the helm, following a battle with injuries and a severe loss of form.
At the time, Tottenham seemed optimistic that the man from Milton Keynes would rediscover his spark on Merseyside, insisting on a 25% cut of any profits made from a future sale.
Now – as Dele Alli begins training with Como in a bid to win a contract – TBR Football have learned whether Tottenham would still be entitled to some cash if a move does materialise.
Tottenham not expected to make any money from Dele Alli
TBR Football understand Tottenham no longer stand to benefit financially wherever the 28-year-old ends up in future.
That is because the contract Dele, who adores Heung-min Son, signed at Everton, which included the aforementioned sell-on clause, no longer exists, with the attacking midfielder technically a free agent nowadays.
The Toffees have still allowed the Englishman to use training facilities at Finch Farm and have access to the medical staff, but he is not officially tied to Everton, and would join Como on a free transfer if the Serie A side do decided to offer him a contract.

Cesc Fabregas – Head Coach of Como – will give Dele a month to prove his fitness in training sessions before making a decision.
What Dele Alli said when he left Tottenham
It must be hard for Dele, who Ben Davies compared to Jude Bellingham, to be in this situation after sitting at football’s top table as a superstar not long ago, but he will hopefully find what he’s looking for at Como.
Upon leaving Spurs, the midfielder told Sky Sports: “I just want to be happy playing football. Working with Lampard, and the great players Everton have got, is a great opportunity for me to do that. I’m excited to go there, show the fans what I can do, and help the club as much as I can.”

Como has already proven to be something of a sanctuary for the likes of Pepe Reina, Sergi Roberto and Patrick Cutrone, so hopefully, the Serie A outfit – who are located in a truly beautiful area – will help Dele rediscover his love for football.
