Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have all shown interest in Florian Wirtz. Wirtz has been superb for Bayer Leverkusen since last season. He has been able to attract a lot of top clubs across whole Europe.
Wirtz is only 21 years old but has been first team player since 2019/20 season. He came into attention last season when he helped Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in the history.
The German attacker scored 18 goals and picked 19 assists in 49 games last season. This earned him spot in Germany national team for Euro 2024. The 21 year old has started this season in similar fashion and already has 11 goals and 5 assists in 24 games.
Wirtz is being looked upon by many top clubs. It seems like a big move is loading for the 24 year old next year. He is surely going to cost a lot of money but that will not stop top clubs from leaving the race for Wirtz. As of now, 3 English clubs are keen to sign him.

Arsenal, Liverpool and City are all keen to sign the 21 year old next year. Firstly, Gunners are desperate to sign a player who adds more quality in final third. Wirtz will be an upgrade on Martinelli and Trossard. In addition, he can even play as striker when needed.
The Reds may view Wirtz as replacement to Mohamed Salah. Salah will be out of contract at the end of season. Lastly, City will view Wirtz as replacement to Kevin De Bruyne who is nearing the end of his career at top level.
But, now all of these clubs have been handed a big blow in the pursuit of Wirtz. Florian Plettenberg has tweeted the latest news regarding Wirtz on his official X account. He has wrote that Bayer 04 and Wirtz are close to agree a new contract and extend the player’s stay beyond 2027. The contract is not signed yet but it may be done very soon.
