There is one potential transfer battle that Chelsea can afford to lose next year.
Before the start of the season, it is probably not something that many would have said. Chelsea looked like they were in need of a new centre-forward.
However, fast forward to now and that is no longer the case. Nicolas Jackson has done an excellent job leading the line this term and has Chelsea in a title race.
Criticism has helped Jackson to grow, and there no longer appears to be a need for the Blues to sign some of the No.9s they are currently being linked with.

Chelsea and Manchester United interested in Victor Osimhen
One striker who was heavily linked to Chelsea in the summer was Victor Osimhen, and speculation about a move to Stamford Bridge has still not gone away.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea still have the 25-year-old on their radar after failing to sign him in the last transfer window.
However, the same outlet claims that Manchester United are also keen on Osimhen, meaning that the two English giants could find themselves in a tussle over his signature.
Given the forward Jackson has quickly developed into, though, it really is a tussle that Chelsea can afford to lose. It has been reported that Osimhen could cost his next club £62.6m.

In 15 Premier League appearances this season, Jackson has scored nine goals. It leaves him just outside the top five scorers in the division.

At this rate, he is well on course to finish the campaign with 20 goals. Still a couple years younger than Osimhen, Jackson perhaps has the potential to surpass the Nigerian, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
All in all, forking out more than £60m on Osimhen does not look necessary. Chelsea would be better off sticking with Jackson, developing the Senegal international and perhaps bringing in a younger striker like Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap to support him.
It is believed that Chelsea have already opened talks with Ipswich to sign Delap, who could leave Portman Road at the end of the season.
