Speaking at the Golden Boy Gala today, superagent Jorge Mendes has confirmed that Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal will sign a new contract with the club.
Yamal, 17, won the Golden Boy 2024 award but has not flown to Italy for the Gala today and was presented with the award yesterday at Montjuic before the game against Leganes.
The teenage La Masia sensation’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2026, meaning he will be entering the final year of his deal next summer.
There have been reports of a pact existing between the club, the player, and Mendes about an extension until 2030.
However, given his meteoric rise, Barça intend to offer him better terms, although there is complete calmness about the renewal situation.
And now it has become clear why the Blaugrana are relaxed about Lamine’s future as his agent, Mendes, confirmed that the youngster will sign a new contract with the Catalans.
“Of course, Lamine Yamal is going to renew with Barça,” Mendes told SPORT.

The Portuguese superagent also commented on his client’s injury which he sustained last night during the match against Leganes, saying:
“Now he is going to recover, it is something that he will quickly get well from.”
Lamine suffered an ankle injury, his second of the season, during the 0-1 defeat to Leganes. As confirmed by the club earlier today, the 17-year-old gem is expected to be out for a period of 3-4 weeks.
As such, he is out of this weekend’s La Liga game against Atletico Madrid while he will also miss Barcelona’s first Copa del Rey clash of the season versus UD Barbastro in the first week of January.
There is hope that Lamine can recover in time for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Club on January 8 in Saudi Arabia.
