Opinion: Arsenal must sign 24-yo Premier League star for£85m in order to win league title

Arsenal simply have to go all out to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

Mikel Arteta has overseen real progress at the Emirates over the past five years, but he needs something extra in order to get his side over the line in the race for the Premier League title.

And Mohammed Kudus might just be the perfect man for the job.

The West Ham star is a sensational talent, and he has an £85 million release clause inserted into his current deal at the London Stadium (The Athletic).

Now, that doesn’t become active until the summer, so the Gunners may have to wait until then or test the Hammers’ resolve in January with a blockbuster bid.

Arsenal are crying out for someone like Kudus right now, and not just because he would provide proper competition and cover for Bukayo Saka.

More so because his explosiveness and unpredictability would add a certain kind of ‘bang bang’ to the Arsenal setup.

By that I mean the Gunners are far too predictable and choreographed when going forward at times, and Kudus would change all of that in an instant.

Arsenal will win Premier League title by signing Mohammed Kudus

The Ghanaian has racked up an impressive 16 goals and eight assists in 57 games for the Hammers so far.

Kudus is a fantastic technician, possesses explosive pace and is incredibly strong.

He’s actually very similar to Saka in the way that he shields the ball from his opponents.

At 24, Kudus still has plenty of years left ahead of him with which to improve, and Arteta would be the best man to take him to another level.

The former Ajax star is at his best when playing on the right wing, but he can play out wide on the left, in the number 10 role or even through the middle as an auxiliary striker if need be.

Mohammed Kudus possesses tremendous drive and determination, and he always tries to make things happen for his team.

The Ghana international takes on responsibility when he’s required to do so, and I feel like £85 million would end up looking like a bargain deal for Arsenal.

Whether the Gunners board are ready to back Arteta to the hilt remains to be seen though.
