Mikel Arteta Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly planning to accelerate their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, as per TBR Football.
The Gunners started the season with the ambition of finally winning the Premier League title this season after narrowly missing out on achieving this feat in the last two consecutive campaigns.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side have had an inconsistent first half of this season so far. They accumulated 18 points from the first seven league matches but have only managed to earn 12 in their last nine games.
As a result, they are currently third in the league, sitting six points behind the league leaders Liverpool – who have a game in hand. Chelsea are second with 34 points from 16 matches.
The North London club haven’t been able to score goals from open play in the last three Premier League. It has widely been suggested that Arsenal lack firepower in their centre-forward department and they need to hire a new prolific goal-scorer to finally win the league.
Kolo Muani to Arsenal
Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are the two striker options Arteta currently has at his disposal. Jesus hasn’t been able to open his account in 13 appearances in the league this season, while Havertz has netted only five goals in 15 appearances.
Now, TBR Football state that Arsenal want to strengthen the centre-forward position by signing Kolo Muani in January and have already stepped up talks to secure his service.
PSG are ready to allow his departure next month after his difficulties playing regularly under Luis Enrique this season and are even prepared to let him leave on loan.
However, Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in signing him as Manchester United and Manchester City are also keen on purchasing him by taking advantage of his current situation at the Parc des Princes.
The 26-year-old is a versatile player as he is comfortable playing in the centre-forward position as well as out wide. Arteta likes to have players – who can play multiple positions so he could be a useful acquisition for Arsenal if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually sign him to strengthen the attacking department in January.
