Aston Villa “noises” suggest that Emi Buendia moving to Leeds United during the January transfer window is unlikely, Beren Cross has said.
The Argentine is a player who the Whites attempted to sign during the summer, confirmed by club director Angus Kinnear, and is someone that Daniel Farke admires after their time together at Norwich City.
Since deciding against a move to Elland Road, Buendia has yet to start a single Premier League match under Unai Emery and is now being linked with Leeds once again.
Writing via LeedsLive [16 December], Cross said: “Noises from the West Midlands still seem to suggest a January loan would be unlikely, especially if Villa do not get someone in themselves, but this is a player Leeds should keep an eye on.
“Farke’s relationship with Buendia and proven track record with getting the best from him is the ace Leeds can play, but it would be some coup if it materialised. Stay awake and hope the stars align.”

Leeds United to sign Emi Buendia from Aston Villa?
Signings Buendia could very much be the difference between securing promotion to the Premier League and another season in the Championship – he is that good.
While Leeds are flying in the Championship this term, only losing three of their 21 matches so far and sitting second in the table, there are key positions to address during the January window.
Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson have been battling to hold down the attacking midfield spot, and while Buendia has been known to occupy the wing, he could do a brilliant job in the middle of the park.

In 121 appearances for the Canaries, the 27-year-old notched 24 goals and 41 assists, proving his calibre in the Championship, so has already become someone Leeds must sign in the next window.
Having played just a total of 308 minutes of football for the Villans this season, it would be a big surprise if he decides against leaving Villa Park again.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke is surely fearing for his job at Elland Road as a new Red Bull development emerges.
