Rob Green believes that West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is not in the right place mentally after being in and out of the side.
Ahead of the game against Bournemouth on Monday, 16 December, the former Hammers keeper made a comment about the Brazil international’s recent form.
He was named in the starting eleven against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium and the game ended 1-1 with him scoring the goal from the penalty spot.
Speaking on Premier League Productions’ pre-game show on 16 December, Green said at 7:42pm: “He’s a guy who’s just not been in the right place mentally. He’s had Emerson with him playing on the left and he’s not there today.”

However, Paqueta’s penalty against Bournemouth, despite the overall performance not being up to his usual standards, could serve as a pivotal moment for his morale.
Scoring goals, especially in high-pressure moments can often act as a catalyst for regaining confidence.
Had he missed it, the pressure would pile on, given his very cryptic social media activity in the build up to the game.
This goal could be the morale boost he needs, providing a positive foundation as the Hammers navigate through the festive period.

Such moments are crucial for players to remind themselves of their capabilities, potentially steering Paqueta back towards consistent performances and reinforcing his importance in the squad.
