West Ham United will be concerned about Lucas Paqueta despite his goalscoring performance in the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Monday.
The Irons appeared to be on their way to build on their 2-1 win against Wolves and claim all three points at the Vitality Stadium on 16 December after Paqueta converted a penalty in the 87th minute.
However, a stunning free-kick goal from Enes Unal at the stroke of the 90th minute left even a heroic Lukasz Fabianski helpless.
Here, West Ham Zone rate each player out of 10.
Lukasz Fabianski – 8
Fabianski pulled off a brilliant save to deny what appeared to be a sure-shot goal for Dango Ouattara at the stroke of half-time. He then palmed away a crisp Ryan Christie shot early in the second half. The Pole made three saves in the first five minutes of the second period as the Cherries upped the ante. The shot-stopper made another great save to deny a clever attempt from Evanilson following a corner. He was spectacular in goal, making save after save. Fabianski’s performance peaked when he pulled off a diving save to deny a long-range effort from Christie as the game entered its final 80 minutes. There was nothing he could have done to deny Unal’s stunning free-kick.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
Vladimir Coufal – 6
Coufal had the first sight of goal in the game, but let himself down with an awful shot. The right-back was at the right place to deny a goal for Bournemouth early in the second half as an Ouattara shot deflected off him for a corner.
Konstantinos Mavropanos – 5
With Jean-Clair Todibo absent, Mavropanos was decent at the back for the most part, but conceded an unnecessary free-kick from which Unal scored.
Max Kilman and Aaron Wan-Bissaka solid for West Ham
Max Kilman – 7
Kilman was a solid presence at the back and made a brilliant block to deny Antoine Semenyo near the one-hour mark. He continued to be a formidable presence at the back, making another great block and clearance.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Off for Kaelen Casey 90+5′) – 7
Starting at left-back in place of the suspended Emerson, Wan-Bissaka delivered a great cross to set up Tomas Soucek for a shot towards the end of the first half. He moved to right-back after substitutions and delivered a spectacular cross to set up Niclas Fullkrug for a header from close range. The German had his attempt saved, but the Irons were awarded a penalty, with Tyler Adams penalised for a handball in the process.
Edson Alvarez (Off for Crysencio Summerville 75′) – 4
Alvarez was booked for a foul on Semenyo in the Bournemouth half just after the one-hour mark.
Tomas Soucek – 6
Soucek continued to be a goal threat for Lopetegui’s side, seeing a shot from close-range go out for a corner after a deflection off Ouattara.
Mohammed Kudus (Off for Oliver Scales 75′) – 7
The Ghana international emerged as the danger man for West Ham early on in the game, providing a great pass to set up Jarrod Bowen for a shot that came off the woodwork. He remained a livewire down the left flank and an attempt brilliantly blocked just before being subbed.

Carlos Soler (Off for Niclas Fullkrug 56′) – 5
Soler picked up a yellow card for a foul on Semenyo 23 minutes into the game and will, therefore, miss the game against Brighton on Saturday (21 December). He saw an impressive right-footed attempt go just wide minutes later after exchanging a lovely one-two pass with Paqueta.
Lucas Paqueta was poor despite scoring
Lucas Paqueta – 3
Paqueta was invisible for most of the game and it is a surprise that he played the whole game. Converting the penalty does not change the fact that he was poor in the game.
Jarrod Bowen – 6
Bowen came close to putting the Irons in front when he struck the woodwork from the edge of the box in the 15th minute.
Substitutes
Niclas Fullkrug (On for Soler 56′) – 5
The German attempted an audacious bicycle kick minutes after coming on, although the shot was wide off target. He should have done better to convert a great cross from Wan-Bissaka and was lucky that Adams was penalised for a handball.
Crysencio Summerville (On for Alvarez 75′) – 5
Oliver Scales (On for Kudus 75′) – NA
Kaelen Casey (On for Wan-Bissaka 90+5) – NA
