Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has set a challenge to Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca and his players this week on Sky Sports.
Henry was reviewing the games of the weekend and honed in on Chelsea’s win against Brentford on Sunday night. Of course, all the talk right now is whether Chelsea are title challengers or not.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ‘seriously consider’ January approach for Premier League centre back!!
Enzo Maresca has made it clear that he is not yet seeing his side as title challengers, but former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot believes he is just playing it down for a good reason. Current striker Nicolas Jackson as well claims he does not even look at the league table right now, dismissing any talk that Chelsea are in this race.
But other pundits, fans, and media outlets fully believe that Chelsea are right in this title race now. And the facts, that Chelsea are currently sat in second place in the league table, also says that Chelsea are actually in this race at the current time. Reality might tell us something different though. But only time will tell.

Chelsea have only beaten Tottenham out of the usual ‘top six’ clubs. Although, Spurs are currently not even deemed a top six club this season, or at least Henry is not looking at them like that.
The former France international has told Chelsea to beat a top team to really be considered as serious challengers. And perhaps that is part of the reason that Maresca and the players are also still playing this talk down for now.
In quotes picked up by PYS on X, Henry said:
“Show me you can beat Arsenal, [Manchester] City, Liverpool, they haven’t beaten a big team.”
I do think he has a point here to be honest. This is the next step for Chelsea, to win a couple of these big games.
