Man United 'approach' Marcus Rashford replacement as January deal gets green light

United forward Marcus Rashford.

Marcus Rashford has been tipped to leave United after his derby snub.

The January transfer window is a fortnight away from opening - and Manchester United face a mammoth month following Ruben Amorim's first few weeks in charge.

Doubts about the futures of Alejandro Garnacho and, particularly, Marcus Rashford have arisen after both did not make the matchday squad for Sunday's Manchester derby triumph. The coach's decision follows fresh speculation about the latter's future.

United did not rule out Rashford leaving during the summer transfer window and Paris Saint-Germain, previously, expressed interest in signing the player last year. However, sanctioning any transfer would probably necessitate a replacement - particularly as Amorim's squad has limited forward options.

Rashford replacement?

United have reportedly made Victor Osimhen their top target amid doubts about Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee. Caught Offside reckons the club have made contact, presumably with the player's entourage, about potentially signing the striker.

Chelsea attempted to sign Osimhen on transfer deadline day this summer, but no deal materialised. In turn, the Nigeria international went on loan to Galatasaray instead.

He remains under contract at Napoli, though, and there is an expectation that interest will materialise from their rivals, Juventus, who are preparing to replace Dusan Vlahovic. It is, reportedly, increasingly believed that they are Osimhen's preference next year.

Striker change cleared

Randal Kolo Muani could reputedly leave Paris Saint-Germain on loan during the January transfer window, amid reported interest from United. French tabloid Le 10 Sport claimed that the club expressed interest in Kolo Muani last month and said the player would make the decision on staying or leaving.

The country's newspaper L'Equipe claims the Parisian club cleared a January departure after Luis Enrique dropped the player for last weekend's match against Lyon. A temporary move is considered most likely.

However, they add that a permanent move could materialise - barely 18 months after PSG agreed to a £77million deal with Eintracht Frankfurt for the Frenchman.
