Liverpool gave up more ground in the Premier League title race on Saturday after drawing with Fulham.
The Reds were favourites heading into the game against the Cottagers, but Andy Robertson’s early red card gave them an uphill battle. Chelsea capitalised and closed the gap to two points.
Nevertheless, although Liverpool can now cede top spot in the Premier League to Chelsea on Sunday, if only for a brief while, they were still impressive against Fulham.
Despite being a goal and a man down inside 17 minutes, Arne Slot’s team battled hard and could easily have won the game.
That they didn’t will rankle for Reds supporters given that they are now being reeled in by Enzo Maresca’s side.
But supporters should also have taken heart in the guts shown by the Liverpool squad to come back into the game. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was certainly impressed.

Thierry Henry impressed by Liverpool winning mentality
Henry’s former side are also still involved in the Premier League title race. But Arsenal themselves missed the chance to eat up ground on Liverpool by drawing with Everton.
The Gunners still sit six points behind the Reds having played one game more.

And according to Henry, a difference in mentality towards matches could be what separates Liverpool from Arsenal this season.
Speaking on Sky Sports for Monday Night Football, the Frenchman praised the way the Reds go out to win games under Slot, even if the odds are stacked against them.

“When I see Liverpool play, it looks like they’re trying to win it. I see other teams play it’s like ‘let’s not lose it’,” says Henry.
“When I see Liverpool play against Fulham with 10 men, how can you send five bodies in between lines and have a way of trying to create goals or opportunities. If you go and win the league you have to go and grab it and win it.”

Who’s playing who next time out?
Although this is a fair point from Henry, Liverpool cannot afford to drop points for a third league match in a row this Sunday.
The Reds have a tough-looking away trip to a Tottenham Hotspur side who blew Southampton away 5-0 on Sunday.
Liverpool still have some injury issues and sneed to get through Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game with Saints before then.
As for Arsenal, they go away to Crystal Palace, which is never an easy fixture for anyone. Meanwhile, it gets no easier for Man City who play at Villa Park, with Liverpool hoping Everton can do them another favour against Chelsea at Goodison Park.
Four tough away fixtures for the sides who will still hold title ambitions. For Liverpool, they have to keep that same energy and attitude and go out to win at Spurs.
