Promising 16-year-old FC Porto winger visits Deco in Barcelona along with his agent

There is no doubt that FC Barcelona are one of the best clubs in the world, especially from the point of view of youth development. The Catalans have developed some of the best players in Europe in their famed academy La Masia, and scores of their graduates are playing in some of the most competitive leagues and teams across Europe.

The Blaugranes have put an even greater emphasis on youth talent development in the last few years, especially as they find it increasingly difficult to compete with other European clubs for their desired transfer targets in the market.

Thus, they now focus on getting the brightest emerging talents when they are still young and their prices have not yet skyrocketed. Currently, the Catalans are keeping their eyes on several such players who have shown the potential to grow significantly in the coming few years.

One such player has been the FC Porto player Cardoso Varela, who might be getting closer to a move to Barcelona. The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports that the player and his agent, Andy Bara, landed in the city of Barcelona on Monday, and also visited Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despí to meet with the Barcelona Sporting Director, Deco.

His agent, Andy Bara, is also the one who represents Dani Olmo and also represented another youngster on whom Barcelona made quite a quick profit recently, Mikayil Faye. Bara has a very good relationship with the Blaugrana management, and this relationship can further facilitate Cardoso’s potential move to Barcelona.
