Wesley Fofana has made some serious money at Chelsea following his exit from Leicester City.
Born in Marseille, Wesley Fofana began his playing career in the youth ranks of Saint-Etienne.
After a stint with their B team, he eventually started playing senior football in 2019.
But despite only lining out 30 times for Saint-Etienne’s senior side, Leicester City snapped Fofana up in October 2020 for a fee of around £33m.
The centre-back played 28 Premier League games and six Europa League matches during his debut campaign at the King Power Stadium.
Fofana’s second campaign in England was much less prolific, only notching seven league appearances after suffering a broken fibula.
The injury kept him out for 63 games in total yet that did not stop Chelsea snapping him up in the summer of 2022.

The Frenchman is clearly a talented player but now 24, he continues to be hampered with the same injury woes that plagued him in the Midlands.
In total, he has picked up five separate issues at Stamford Bridge, including a hamstring injury he is currently sidelined with.
At the time of writing, Fofana has now missed a whopping 78 games for Chelsea in all competitions.
But the money continues to roll in each week and when taking a look at his salary, as per Capology, the numbers are pretty mindblowing.
The 24-year-old is under contract until 2029 and is earning £200,000-a-week for the Blues.
Right now, he has been signed for Chelsea for 119 weeks and six days, meaning he has so far earned a gross salary of £23.8m.
That’s a staggering number in and of itself, but owing to his persistent injury issues, Fofana has made just 32 appearances in all competitions for the West Londoners, working out at £743,750 per appearance.
It also means every minute he has been on the pitch (2,602) has cost Chelsea £9,146.81.
