Man United can solve two problems in one as Ruben Amorim offered perfect transfer solution

Since becoming a first-team regular at Manchester United, Marcus Rashford has, at least initially, been implicitly trusted by whoever sits in the dugout.

At times he has repaid the manager's trust and has become undroppable. However, the past two seasons his powers have faded to an extent that many feel now is the right time for both parties to go their separate ways.

There was shockwaves sent around United on Sunday when it was confirmed that Rashford had not only been dropped, but he had also stayed at home for the Manchester derby. It was a huge call by Ruben Amorim and one which eventually paid off as a new star was born in Amad.

However, what's next for Rashford? While the 27-year-old has a deep affiliation with the Reds, perhaps even he knows deep down that a move away would not be the worst of ideas.

But if he was to leave, where would he go? January offers United an opportunity to trial a divorce between the club and one of their academy alumni.

PSG's Randal Kolo Muani looks destined to leave the French club on loan in the winter after a miserable season in the French capital. Like Rashford, he was dropped at the weekend and it appears a temporary switch until the end of the campaign is on the cards.

The Parisians have been keen admirers of Rashford in the past and would likely jump at the opportunity to have him on the books even if it is a temporary arrangement. As such, both Amorim and Luis Enrique could help solve each other's problems by proposing a swap deal.

For Amorim, the benefits are the same. He allows Rashford time away in a new environment while bringing in a recognised centre-forward who is eager to show his current employers what they are missing.

There would be no huge expenditure either with the loan switch appealing to Sir Jim Ratcliffe's frugal nature. It may push the problem down the line but in the summer there is more time to think and that's what Amorim and Rashford both need more than ever.
