'Until...': Journalist shares the length of the contract Vitor Pereira is about to sign at…

Wolves fans are hoping that the appointment of Vitor Pereira will be a catalyst for change, following a shocking season so far.

Wolves are 19th in the table, having taken just nine points from 16 games so far. They have also conceded a staggering 40 goals.

The Wolves board was desperate for Gary O’Neil to turn things around but in the end, they decided a change was necessary.

Some Wolves fans fear O’Neil was sacked weeks too late, with many having called for him to go after the defeat to Brentford back in August.

Since the actual sacking of O’Neil, Wolves have moved fairly quickly. Just hours later, Wolves entered into talks with Vitor Pereira, who is now all set to take over.

It has been reported by Rudy Galetti that Pereira to Wolves is pretty much a done deal now.

And there is word about the contract he is signing at Molineux.

Galetti says: “Vitor #Pereira to #Wolves: the duration of the contract in finalization is 1-year and a half, until June 2026.

“As told, his arrival in the Premier League is just a matter of time.”

Some thought Pereira might have only signed a contract until the end of the season, given Wolves’ Premier League status is under genuine threat at the moment.

But this contract indicates that he would perhaps stay on as Wolves manager even in the event of relegation – although there could always be some kind of clause.

Pereira has so much work to do at Wolves

Wolves fans are excited for a new chapter, but Pereira has so much work to do at the club in order to achieve safety.

And possibly, the extent to which he’s going to be successful will depend a lot on how well he is backed in January.

Fans know full well how much Wolves need a new centre-back, and that is going to be huge for the club.

Pereira must also get Wolves to continue scoring goals in the final third – that was always one thing that was never really in doubt under O’Neil.
