**Official Newcastle United injury update – Availability for the Brentford match (and beyond):**
Nick Pope – Remains out with his knee injury.
Jamaal Lascelles – Long-term injured and still unavailable.
Emil Krafth – Also still on the recovery route from his injury.
Sven Botman – Eddie Howe very happy with the hour Botman played on Monday night in the 3-2 reserve team victory over Chelsea but not available yet for the first team.
Callum Wilson – His latest hamstring injury seeing the striker out for the next couple of months.
Sean Longstaff – Suspended for this Brentford match after picking up two yellows in the competition.
So at least six Newcastle United players unavailable for this cup quarter-final.
On the positive side, Eddie Howe not reporting any new injuries following the 4-0 win over Leicester.
Lewis Miley played just 45 minutes in last night’s reserve match, Eddie Howe indicating he will be in the matchday squad for Brentford.

_“He was good last night, he seemed in a good place, we exchanged messages._
_“His movement was good, commanding and a big presence on the pitch._
_“We have missed him._
_“That was a good step for him to get back on the pitch._
_“We are looking at the end of December or start of January, give him a few more games to get him back on track.”_
