Having returned to FC Barcelona after a forgettable loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, Ansu Fati has once again been bogged down by fitness and injury problems.
The Spaniard missed the USA tour in the summer and the start of the new campaign due to a foot injury he sustained in pre-season training.
Upon returning, the 22-year-old barely made an impact before another injury put him on the sidelines.
Fati, close to returning to action, has only played 158 minutes across seven matches this term and it is clear that manager Hansi Flick favours other forwards over him.
As such, the doors had been opened for the La Masia graduate to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window.
Ansu Fati wants to stay
However, according to the latest update from SPORT, Ansu Fati has made a decision on his future and has opted to continue at Barcelona and fight for a place in the team.

The academy graduate knows that he has not had many minutes this season, and it is unlikely he will feature much in the crucial matches in the second half of the campaign.
The situation was made clear to Ansu and his representatives several weeks ago, and the club left the decision about his future in his hands: if he chose to go out on loan, the club would provide all the necessary support, but if he wanted to stay, there would be no objections.
As of today, the clear signals the Blaugrana have received are that Ansu wants to stay and make one last attempt to earn more playing time.
Even though there has been some interest in him, the lack of clear, viable offers has played a role in this decision, which remains firm for now.
However, things may change in the summer, as Barcelona do not plan to include their current No. 10 in their next project.
