After an impressive draw on the road against Arsenal over the weekend, Everton fans could be set for a big week ahead.
Sean Dyche’s side will be all too aware that there is still a lot of work needing to be done to pull themselves away from danger.
Despite the draw against the Gunners, Everton saw their cushion on the relegation zone reduced to just three points due to results elsewhere.
But there is plenty of reason to be optimistic around Goodison Park with The Friedkin Group expected to takeover Everton this week.
And plans have already been put in place for a potential takeover announcement ahead of Everton’s game against Chelsea this weekend.

The Friedkins have reserved Everton takeover announcement planned
According to The Athletic’s Patrick Boyland, those around The Friedkin Group believe the new owners are not looking to put on a huge fanfare with their takeover announcement.
“There’s relief here. I’m sure there’s jubilation, but I think the first emotion for most people will be relief that this is done,” said Boyland on The Blue Room podcast.

“The tone of this is quite interesting, though, from what I’m told, I don’t think there’s going to be huge fanfare accompanying any announcement. I don’t think it’s going to be bells and whistles, or big press conferences ahead of the Chelsea game.
“They may be famous last words, but that’s what I’m hearing right now.”
The Friedkin Group were furious with Roma over the weekend as the Italian giants lost again under Claudio Ranieri.
Ironically, Roma lost on the weekend against the side the side Dele Alli is set to train with, Como.
There is work to be done at Everton for the Friedkins
This news should go down well with the Everton fans as the last thing the club need right now is for a big distraction away from the pitch.
Everton’s players handled the takeover developments extremely well over the weekend with The Friedkin Group receiving Premier League approval.
There is a clear realisation that getting the takeover over the line is only the start of the work needed at Goodison.
With the Toffees sitting so closely to the relegation zone, The Friedkin Group have set Dyche a transfer budget for the January window to bolster his side.
But what Everton can do in the winter market may be limited through PSR, which is why avoiding a huge arrival this week could be useful for the new owners.
