Our men’s and women’s players were out in force in Islington last week ahead of Arsenal in the Community’s 40th anniversary in 2025.
Members of our Arsenal in the Community programmes were surprised by players, including Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling as well as Lotte Wubben-Moy and Kyra Cooney-Cross, who visited The Hub. They spent time with the participants, sharing stories, answering questions and playing football together. William Saliba and Neto went back to the classroom, visiting children at a local primary school.
Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Jakub Kiwior, Kieran Tierney, Mikel Merino and David Raya greeted young patients in hospital, as did Alessia Russo, Emily Fox and Katie McCabe.
Speaking from the Royal Free hospital, David Raya said: “Our supporters in our communities in Islington and around the world inspire us to be better every day. Our aim is to win, but we can’t do it alone. We’re all the same family and we win together. Our team and community fuel each other.”
Arsenal in the Community has been using the power of the Arsenal name to positively impact the lives of young people since 1985. The team delivers sport, social and education programmes to more than 5,000 individuals each week and we’re proud of the impact we continue to make in our communities, creating a sense of belonging and driving progress within the Arsenal family across the world.
