From Portugal: When Vítor Pereira will be presented at Wolves and what’s happening now

On Monday, we covered multiple claims from Portugal about Wolverhampton Wanderers’ efforts to appoint Vítor Pereira as their new manager.

The Portuguese coach has a €1m release clause in his contract at Al Shabab FC and Wolves were trying to lower the price to €700-800k.

The deal to take the manager to Wolves is on the verge of being completed if multiple claims coming out of Portugal are to be believed.

Maisfutebol have now ‘confirmed’ the 56-year-old will be the new Wolves manager after all parties reached an agreement.

Pereira has a €1m release clause in his deal with the Middle Easte club and the report states Wolves have agreed to pay this to secure his services. It’s claimed the coach is expected to arrive in England today to seal his move to Molineux.

O Jogo are also reporting the former FC Porto manager is on his way to Wolves after they found an agreement with the Saudi club.

They state the fee the Premier League side will pay is between €700,000 and €1m. This is different to what’s reported by Maisfutebol.

O Jogo say Pereira will arrive in the UK today and his move to Wolves will be made official on Wednesday. Both outlets claim he will sign a contract until 2026.

Pereira will replace Gary O’Neil, who was shown the exit door at the weekend. Wolves are 19th in the table and the new manager’s immediate task is to help them get out of the relegation zone.
