Real Madrid defensive starlet attracts interest from Germany and Spain

Real Madrid’s defensive crisis has seen Carlo Ancelotti turn to the academy to fill the first-team squad and maintain options on the bench in games.

One such youngster who has entered the manager’s plans in recent games is the subsidiary team’s Youssef Enríquez Lekhedim, a.k.a, Yusi who has proven to be an essential left-back option in Raul’s Castilla team.

Just 19 years of age, Yusi entered the first-team squad against both Atalanta and Rayo Vallecano in light of Ferland Mendy’s injury as a backup option to Fran Garcia.

Interest abundant

As revealed in a recent update by AS, clubs across the globe are alert over the left-back’s situation and are looking to steal him from the Spanish capital.

In Germany, there is serious interest in his name and contacts have been made with Real Madrid.

Despite usually being willing to part ways with academy players, however, Real Madrid did not even consider the proposals.

In fact, first-divison clubs in Spain including Getafe have also made inquiries into his availability only to get on for an answer.

The player and the club believe they can work together for a long time to come and thus even extended his contract at Real Madrid until 2028.

First trophy incoming?

Yusi has been included in Real Madrid’s squad for the Intercontinental Cup final later this week and will win his first trophy with the senior team if they get over the line.

Indeed, his debut on the night is a possibility, although Ancelotti will likely not call him up unless somthing serious happened to Fran Garcia.

Yet, just by being registered for theevent, he is on the cusp of celebrating his first trophy with Real Madrid tomorrow night.
