Arsenal set up effort to sign Ligue 1 star wanted by Manchester United: Reports

close

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are set to compete against Manchester United in the transfer market to sign Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani, as per Graeme Bailey on TBR Football. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are also interested in bringing the French attacker on board.

Randal Kolo Muani joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from German side Eintracht Frankfurt for a reported £64 million in September 2023. However, the Frenchman has failed to perform up to the expectations. In 54 appearances for Les Parisians, Kolo Muani has scored 11 and assisted seven goals.

The 26-year-old has made 14 appearances across all competitions for Luis Enrique's side, bagging only two goals and one assist this season. Due to his lacklustre performances, the Frenchman has fallen back in the pecking order, starting only two Ligue 1 games for PSG this season.

Nevertheless, the Frenchman has still managed to attract the attention of top European clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and Manchester City. The Gunners aim to sign the 26-year-old as Gabriel Jesus's replacement and to partner Kai Havertz.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are interested in signing Randal Kolo Toure because they think he can outperform Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford, who currently face uncertain futures at Old Trafford.

Manchester City are also looking to secure a deal for Erling Haaland's alternative, who can eventually help the team in rotations.

As per the aforementioned report, the Ligue 1 giants are willing to loan the Frenchman in the upcoming winter transfer window as a permanent deal is unlikely.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are reportedly preparing a player swap deal for Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer windows, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.net (via Caught Offside). The Gunners are keen to recruit a new attacker soon, considering the current form of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

This season, Jesus has made 20 appearances for the Gunners across competitions, scoring one and assisting two goals. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz has played 23 matches for the north London club, bagging ten goals and two assists. Havertz has scored only once in Arsenal's last eight Premier League matches.

As a result, Dusan Vlahovic is on the club's transfer radar and the Gunners are ready to add Gabriel Jesus to the deal.

For the Serie A giants, Dusan Vlahovic has played 120 matches across competitions, bagging 52 goals and 11 assists. The Serbian forward's current contract with Juventus will expire in the summer of 2026.
