Report: League champions could try to sign £30m Everton star in January amid surprise…

Inter Milan could be set to make a surprise move for an Everton player in January.

It is potentially going to be a busy month for Everton, who are currently hovering just above the relegation zone.

Igor Jesus is reportedly an option for Everton, and that is a move that could come to fruition if Beto leaves the club.

Beto had requested to leave Everton earlier this month, and the striker has recently been linked with Torino.

But it was then reported that Everton were not keen to sanction Beto’s exit, causing Torino to walk away from a deal.

But Torino are now doing something that could result in Beto still leaving Everton next month.

It’s been reported by SpazioInter that talks have been progressing between Torino and Marko Arnautovic from Inter Milan.

And there is significance for Everton over this, because reigning Serie A champions Inter could now make a move for Beto as a potential placement for Arnautovic if he goes.

It’s claimed Beppe Marotta has previous interest in Beto, and could now try to sign him if the Austrian completes a move to Torino.

Inter were reportedly keen on Beto while he was at Udinese.

Should Beto ultimately make the move to Inter, he would likely operate as back-up to Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Everton should hear offers for Beto

So Inter could potentially come to the table for Beto if Arnautovic leaves.

It remains to be seen if Everton’s stance would change over Beto compared to the one they’ve taken amid interest from Torino.

Inter are obviously a bigger club with more money, so it’s possible Everton could be more receptive to an approach.

And Everton should indeed hear offers for Beto, who has not made the impact for the Toffees that fans hoped he would since his £30 million move to the club in 2023.

Armando Broja impressed fans with his cameo for Everton against Arsenal, and the Albania international will make it even harder for Beto to play regular minutes
