Mohamed Salah has already signed a new contract with Liverpool, according to Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero. The Egyptian’s current Reds deal, along with those of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, expires at the end of the season.
Salah signed his last extension with Liverpool in the summer of 2022 as he became the best-paid player in the club’s history, agreeing terms on a heavily incentivised, initial £350,000-per-week contract.
With the clock ticking down on that deal, the 32-year-old has already confirmed that he wants to stay put at Anfield.

But should Salah not have signed fresh terms with the Reds come January 1, he will be free to agree a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs.
Speculation about his future is inevitably ongoing as a result. But Aguero has claimed that the Egypt captain has actually already signed a new two-year extension to remain at Liverpool - it just has not been announced yet.
“So, I’ve read a little about this over the past few hours,” Aguero told Stake.com, as quoted by FourFourTwo. “As I understand, Salah’s renewed his contract with Liverpool for two more seasons.
“I think this should clear all doubts about his future. He remains a key player and a fresh contract is the best news Liverpool could receive.”
Onlookers will perhaps raise eyebrows at Aguero's claims, wondering what exactly he has been reading and querying his authority on Salah's contract talks with the Reds.. Regardless, time will tell if the former Man City star is right or if the forward's Anfield future remains undecided.
Salah has enjoyed a sensational season so far under Arne Slot, returning 16 goals and 13 assists from just 23 appearances to help Liverpool lead both the Premier League and Champions League tables, while also securing qualification to the League Cup quarter-finals.
