The per cent chance Chelsea have now been given to win the Premier League after beating Brentford

The big question on the lips of every Chelsea fan at the moment is whether or not their side are in the midst of a Premier League title race.

Enzo Maresca has insisted the Blues are not able to fight for the title just yet, however the results are beginning to suggest otherwise at Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer gave a blunt no when he was asked if Chelsea could win the league, even if he is continuing to perform as one of the best players in England.

Chelsea now have 5.5% chance of winning the Premier League

Chelsea will be more than aware of the qualities and experience that both Liverpool and Arsenal have fighting for honours at the end of the season, and will not be counting Manchester City out either despite their ongoing issues.

The Blues will be really encouraged by their five-game winning run in the Premier League, however will note that at the minute they are in the midst of a very attractive run of fixtures on paper.

Before facing Brentford, the Blues were given a chance of just 2.8% that they would go on to lift the trophy come May.

However, according to Opta, those chances have near enough doubled to give them a 5.5% chance at this stage, still heavily trailing Liverpool and Arsenal in that category.

Maresca has remained consistent as he looked to ease supporters from getting carried away with Chelsea’s ambitions this season.

The manager pointed out the goal the Blues conceded against Brentford as a reason why they couldn’t challenge in this campaign.

Nevertheless, there are a lot of positives to be taken by how the project is going at Stamford Bridge right now, and that the ambitions that were once laughed at of the owners, are beginning to come to fruition.
