West Ham in three-way race to sign 1999-born African striker from Championship club, make…

West Ham United will compete with Ipswich Town and Atlanta United to sign 1999-born Ivorian striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from EFL Championship club Middlesbrough.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Emmanuel Latte Lath is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the January transfer window. So, the 1999-born centre-forward has emerged as a target for the East London outfit, with the club approaching EFL Championship side Middlesbrough with an enquiry.

Who is Emmanuel Latte Lath?

Emmanuel Latte has found a stable footing since joining Middlesbrough from Atalanta in August 2023. A native of Anoumabo Marcory, the Ivorian striker graduated from the youth division at Atalanta but could not establish a foothold in the first-team squad at the Serie A club, managing only 88 minutes of game time across three appearances for La Dea.

The 25-year-old striker enjoyed a solid debut season with Middlesbrough and has been decent thus far this term. Latte Lath has contributed to ten goals in 22 appearances in all competitions by finding the back of the net eight times and providing two assists.

The Ivory Coast international’s progress at the EFL Championship club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known outfits. The report by Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that the 1999-born striker is a target for West Ham United, Ipswich Town, and MLS club Atlanta United.

London calling?

West Ham United’s interest in Emmanuel Latte Lath is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a new striker heading into the January transfer window after losing Michail Antonio to a long-term issue, with the Jamaican international recently meeting with a scary car accident.

So, several candidates, including Jonathan Burkardt, are on West Ham United’s radar, with Latte Lath also a viable target. The Hammers have already submitted an enquiry as they ask for information about the 1999-born Ivorian heading into the January transfer window.

While Ipswich Town and Atlanta United are also keen on signing the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international, West Ham will hope to beat the competition to his signature. A deal might be on the cards, with his agent acknowledging a possible winter exit from EFL Championship club Middlesbrough.
