“Rocked everyone” | ExWHUEmployee | Michail Antonio update

**West Ham have provided a positive update on the wellbeing of Michail Antonio, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**

The Hammers striker was involved in a serious car accident on Sunday 8th December, which required the player to be air-lifted to hospital and require surgery on a broken leg the following day.

It was a moment that rocked everyone associated with the club, with alarming images of the wreckage showing that our Premier League goal-record scorer was lucky to escape with his life.

Ahead of our recent victory over Wolves at the London Stadium, it was reported that Antonio contacted the squad via video link and was understood to be in good spirits.

Our Podcast co-host and club insider has now provided a positive update on the players recovery, with the club setting out a rough guidance as to when fans may expect to see Antonio back for the club he joined back in 2015.

“We have spoken to a source at the club regarding Michail Antonio and the current situation,” stated Ex on [The West Ham Way Patreon.](http://TheWestHamWay.com/memberships)

“The club have confirmed that the current situation: “Antonio is improving, he might be home for Christmas, but it’s a 7/12 month recovery from here”.

“The club have said they will do all they can to support him during this difficult time.”

Although there is a long road ahead for Antonio to recover and get back on the pitch for West Ham, to hear he could be back home for Christmas and has an indicative window of 7-12 months shows a positive step in the right direction.
