Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says the Reds should consider making a bid for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez during the January transfer window.
The Hungarian international has turned heads with his performances for the Cherries this season, with Carragher going as far as to say he “has been a revelation”. He firmly believes Kerkez should be on his former club’s radar heading into next month:
“[Andy] Robertson is having a tough time and it’s a very unforgiving position. He needs help. Liverpool haven’t got any back-up and it’s something they need to address in January.”

“Kerkez has been a revelation at Bournemouth. The technical director who brought him to Bournemouth (Richard Hughes) is now the sporting director at Liverpool. Kerkez looks like a fullback and he’s aggressive. He’s been superb since he came into the Premier League and is one to watch in the future whether he stays or moves on.”
Kerkez won’t be available on the cheap
The defender joined Bournemouth for £15.5m last year but it is believed that they may want triple that figure now.
Considering that Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with Kerkez as well, the Cherries are unlikely to back down on their current valuation either.
Liverpool may want a different type of left-back
Head coach Arne Slot generally prefers to have one fullback tucking in, while the other inverts or pushes high up the flank.
Even though it isn’t Robertson’s game, the Scotland captain has been asked to sit back more often this season, and Slot would probably ask the same of his potential replacement.
Kerkez is an attack-minded left-back who likes to overlap. He may not necessarily be what sporting director Richard Hughes is seeking in a new first-choice left-back. A player such as Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri may be seen as a better fit for Slot’s system.
