Former Everton star Dele Alli is not training with Italian team Como, according to David Anderson.

The 28-year-old’s contract with the Blues ended last summer and he had been pictured watching Como’s 2-0 victory against Roma on Sunday (15 December).

However, Daily Mirror reporter Anderson took to X to give clarity on the former Tottenham star’s situation in a shock twist.

He reported that despite Cesc Fabregas asking him to train with Como, Alli is still working with the Toffees at the moment.

Everton unlikely to resign Dele Alli

Despite still working with the Blues, that does not mean that he will be offered a contract anytime soon.

Free agents often train with their former clubs to gain fitness and secure a move to a new club.

That is likely the case with the ex-MK Dons man, as he lacks the physicality and intensity to play in the Premier League in his current state after a tough time with injuries.

Dele Alli’s Everton contract expired last summer.

The Blues need reliable options that can impact their first-team squad immediately as they seek to avoid another relegation scrap.

It is likely that new owners the Friedkin Group would rather use their wage budget on a player that can make the first-team squad stronger rather than one that will have to work his way back to full-fitness.

It is sad because Alli had the potential to revive his career at Goodison Park but it seems like he is destined to fail.

In other Everton news, Jamie Carragher has made a surprising prediction for the Blues clash with Chelsea next weekend.
