Wolves fans were today hit with the news that Matheus Cunha has been charged with misconduct following his behaviour against Ipswich Town.
Wolves lost 2-1 to Ipswich at Molineux, and emotions spilled over at the end – again.
Rayan Ait-Nouri got himself sent off as tempers flared. And Cunha also kicked off, and was seen removing the glasses of an Ipswich member of staff.
It’s expected the Brazilian will get a ban from the Premier League, and today, the Cunha was charged by the FA for his antics.
A statement read: “Matheus Cunha has been charged with misconduct following the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town on Saturday, 14 December.
“The forward allegedly acted in an improper manner after the final whistle. He has until Thursday, 19 December, to provide a response.”
It’s pretty much certain that Cunha will now be serving a ban, which isn’t good news for incoming manager Vitor Pereira – but here are three players he could turn to in the absence of the Wolves number 10.

Hwang has spent plenty of time playing on the left side for Wolves since he first came to the club in 2021.
The South Korean has not been in good form this season, but he might be someone who responds well to this managerial change.
Hwang was just as impactful as Cunha last season under Gary O’Neil, who branded Hwang ‘excellent’ last season and raved over his tactical intelligence.
He’s great at arriving in the box, and he could be Pereira’s first port of call in the absence of Cunha.
Carlos Forbs
It’s been a frustrating start to life at Molineux for Carlos Forbs since he joined the club from Ajax on loan.
But the youngster hasn’t had a proper run in the team yet, although one can argue he hasn’t shown enough to warrant the opportunities.
But with Cunha set to serve a ban, this could be a window of opportunity for Forbs, who has looked lively when he have seen him.
Forbs is the fastest forward in the Premier League, and Pereira might seek to use that weapon in the absence of Cunha, whose pace will be greatly missed.
Goncalo Guedes
Potentially the player fans most want to see replace Cunha, Pereira has surely got to consider Goncalo Guedes to support Jorgen Strand Larsen in attack.
Guedes has been a real surprise package this season at Wolves.
Many expected him to leave the club permanently in the last transfer window, but O’Neil reintegrated him.
Despite limited minutes, Guedes has scored four goals for Wolves across all competitions and also laid on three assists. This return of seven goal contributions is certainly impressive from a player who seemingly had no future at the club just months ago.
Guedes has not played much on the left side for Wolves. But Pereira might feel this position could suit him given he can cut in and unleash that fierce shot of his.
