TBR Football understand Everton are showing strong admiration for Rangers No.29 Hamza Igamane.
The Toffees are experiencing a mixed 2024/25 campaign, failing to win consecutive Premier League games under Sean Dyche at any stage of this season, while losing the first four outings in a row to put them 16th – just three points above the relegation zone.
As such, Everton are unsurprisingly looking for a bit of extra firepower in the January transfer window, with only 14 goals scored in 15 Premier League games so far this term.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto can only boast three Premier League goals between them this season.
What have TBR Football been informed about Everton and Hamza Igamane then? Let’s take a look.
Everton on red alert as Hamza Igamane shines at Rangers
TBR Football‘s transfer expert Graeme Bailey has now been told that Everton scouts were in attendance at Ibrox last week to watch the 22-year-old score against Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League.
Igamane helped Rangers secure a 1-1 draw against Spurs with his goal, and sources have made it clear to us that the Toffees are very impressed by what they’ve seen.
TBR Football also understand Calvert-Lewin is not signing a new contract as things stand, with the England international’s current terms set to expire at the end of the season.
Sources have also informed us that Beto could depart Goodison Park in the January transfer window, so Dyche may find himself in desperate need of a new striker soon.
If Igamane is to arrive on Merseyside – however – Everton must fend off fierce competition.

TBR Football are aware that West Ham, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham and Newcastle have also watched the man born in Temara – who has scored six goals in 17 appearances for Rangers this season.
Lille have also scouted Igamane as they explore potential replacements for Jonathan David – who is wanted by Tottenham – ahead of his contract expiring in June.
Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen – who both reached the UEFA Europa League final last season – are admirers of the Moroccan too.
Hamza Igamane has been compared to Didier Drogba
Igamane only arrived at Rangers in a £1.7m move from Moroccan outfit ASFAR Rabat back in June, so English football fans may not know much about him yet.
If that is the case, a comparison to a household name may help, and the Rangers attacker has interestingly been likened to Didier Drogba – who Thierry Henry adores.
It was Igamane’s own teammate at Rangers – Leon Balogun – who made the comment, telling The Scottish Sun: “Hamza’s had an excellent run, he’s a strong player. I don’t want to praise him too much, but the way he controls the ball reminds me a little bit of Didier Drogba.”
Drogba memorably scored 104 goals in 254 Premier League appearances for Chelsea – if Igamane can be even 50% as good for Everton should a deal materialise, the Goodison Park faithful will be delighted.
