Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are prepared to sell Manchester United and CHELSEA target Theo Hernandez when the January transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.

Enzo Maresca has come into Chelsea and turned the Blues back into the side that is capable of winning that Premier League title, as the club are the closest rivals to Liverpool are a stunning start to the new season.

Chelsea are only two points behind the high flying Liverpool, and many are tipping the Blues to push on over the next few months and keep on challenging for a title that would get the board very excited about the future.

But despite the great start to the new season, despite the many players that Chelsea have in the squad, there has been alot of players that have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks and Hernandez is one of those players.

Hernandez’s contract is due to expire in 18 months and now Chelsea have been handed a transfer boost as Milan would be willing to cash in on him next month in order to avoid losing him on a free.

The report states that talks over a new deal have stalled and Milan have lowered their asking price for the defender.

Before the start of the new season, many believed that adding a new left-back to the side was needed for Enzo Maresca, but that is no longer the case and Hernandez is a player that is probably not needed at Stamford Bridge.

He is a world class player that would add so much to that CHELSEA side, but the way that the board are heading, the type of players that are being signed, they probably see no profit in adding Hernandez to the side.

SANCHO BEST DEAL EVER

Sancho ended an underwhelming spell at Old Trafford by joining us on loan last summer, and the former Bundesliga star has looked alot more creative during his time with the Blues than he was at United.

The England international will spend the rest of the season at Stamford Bridge, but as part of the deal the club have agreed to sign him permanently for around £25m next summer after an impressive first few months at the club.

Now – former Stoke City defender Glen Johnson has opened up and claimed that the signing of Sancho could be the best deal ever – The former Stoke City man told Betfred: “It looks like a completely one-sided deal. These days, £23 million for a player like that, it’s like giving him away.

‘What he’s done in the last few weeks is what we know he’s capable of, but he just needs to do it more often. He looks like he’s enjoying himself and that’s why he’s putting in performances, so the manager and his backroom staff deserve credit too because these players that weren’t performing are now.

‘so getting Jadon to perform at a cost of £23 million could be the best deal ever.”

Jadon Sancho has been very good at CHELSEA this season and is finally enjoying his time in the Premier League – so if he does stay at the club – it could be a great decision for all involved.

However – with the transfer policy that the Chelsea board like to employ, Sancho could fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge is a few new players are signed.

MUDRYK FAILS DOPING TEST

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been provisionally suspended ahead of this weekend’s game at Everton after returning a positive doping test

The Ukraine international signed for the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 in a huge £89m deal with the 23-year-old enduring a dismal start to his Chelsea career, and struggling to make any sort of impact at Stamford Bridge.

He has once again struggled to get the game time that he would like under Enzo Maresca this season, and there have been rumours that Mudryk could leave Chelsea as he is still not starting anywhere near as much as many people had hoped at this stage.

But there is more bad news with Ukrainian media outlet Tribuna (via APA) claiming Mudryk ‘has tested positive for a banned substance in his recent doping test (A-sample)’.

APA posted: ‘The testing process for the B-sample has now been initiated, with results expected in the coming days.

‘If the B-sample also tests positive, Mudryk could face a suspension of up to four years.

‘Since the doping allegations surfaced, Mudryk has been excluded from CHELSEA’s matchday squads. Notably, his last appearance was on November 28 in a UEFA Conference League match against Heidenheim, where he scored a goal. His final inclusion in a matchday squad was on December 1 against Aston Villa.’

A statement from the Premier League club read:”Both the club and Mykhailo fully support The FA’s testing programme and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested. Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances.

Mudryk, an £89m signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, posted his own statement on social media on Tuesday morning. He said: “I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to The FA contained a banned substance.

“This has come as a complete shock as I have NEVER knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.

“I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon. I cannot say any more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can.”
