Five Premier League players have been named in The Best Men’s XI of 2024 by Fifa at their annual awards ceremony in Doha on Tuesday.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland leads the line, flanked by Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid‘s Vinicius Junior, who was also named best player of the year after missing out on the Ballon d’Or.
The winner of that particular award, Rodri, unsurprisingly features in midfield after winning the Premier League with Man City and the European Championship with Spain. He’s joined by England international Jude Bellingham and the now retired Toni Kroos in the middle of the park.
Arsenal defender William Saliba is oddly placed at left-back with City’s Ruben Dias next to him in the centre. Antonio Rudiger and Dani Carvajal make up the back four, while Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is in nets.
