Everton are about to be taken over by the Friedkin Group.
The American investors could be Everton’s new owners by Wednesday and their arrival is set to bring a whole host of change around the club.
Kevin Thelwell is likely to leave Goodison Park in the new year and Dan Ashworth is among the candidates who could replace him.
Stephen Warnock criticised Thelwell’s recruitment earlier this week, citing the amount flop transfers he’s brought to the club.
Ashworth would certainly be a massive upgrade in the eyes of many and he could use his Brighton links to sign Evan Ferguson at Goodison Park.
The highly-rated chief could also land the signature of a Paris Saint-Germain striker as a development about his situation emerges.

Everton must be on red alert about Randal Kolo Muani
According to French outlet RMC Sport, Everton made contact to sign Randal Kolo Muani during the summer of 2023, when he was an Eintracht Frankfurt player.
Kolo Muani ultimately snubbed their approach and joined Paris Saint-Germain in a whopping £64m deal, though, that’s not really worked out.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The France international has made just two league starts this season and is very much in the background of Luis Enrique’s plans.
In fact, Kolo Muani has recently been left out of the PSG squad altogether and as such, the French champions are prepared to let him go in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
That should put Everton on red alert, who are in desperate need of a striker to replace the out-of-form Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
A loan deal seems to be the most feasible deal for The Toffees, who remain under strict financial conditions.
Kolo Muani stats vs Dominic Calvert-Lewin
If Everton were to sign Kolo Muani, he’d likely be competing against Calvert-Lewin for a spot in Dyche’s starting 11.
So, let’s see how their statistics compare.
Stats per 90 Randal Kolo Muani Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Shot-creating actions 2.95 1.81

Progressive passes 2.09 1.03

Evidently, Kolo Muani’s underlying data trumps Calvert-Lewin’s, so his potential arrival would be a massive upgrade for the squad.
A telling January window lies ahead for Everton.
