Tottenham’s interesting Dele Alli agreement

Dele left Tottenham for Everton back in January of 2022 and while Spurs did not get a fee for the attacking midfielder at the time, it was agreed that the Toffees would pay £10m if he made 20 appearances for the club before the end of his two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 28-year-old did not manage to make the requisite appearances for the Merseyside club, having featured just 13 times for them since his switch.

The midfielder is now set to move to Serie A side Como and it has now emerged that Tottenham also inserted a sell-on clause in their agreement with Everton.

Will Spurs receive a fee for Dele?

TBR Football explain that as per the initial agreement between Everton and Tottenham, the Lilywhites would be owed 25 per cent of any fee that Sean Dyche’s men get for Dele.

However, the report explains that Spurs will not be owed any fee right now as the England international is now making a free transfer to Como after his deal at Everton ran out.

It is explained that the former Tottenham man will now train with Como, who are managed by Cesc Fabregas, with the midfielder set to be offered a contract by the Italian side if he can prove his fitness.

A fresh start is what Dele needs

One would hope that Dele has put his injury issues behind him and is able to get his career back on track.

The attacking midfielder needs a fresh start in a new environment and moving away from the spotlight of the Premier League might be beneficial for him, and may help him rediscover his love for football.
