'Something different': Micah Richards picks two Nottingham Forest players who have really…

Nottingham Forest have made a fine start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo and currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League.

On Saturday, the Reds defeated Aston Villa to make it three wins from four games and ensured the win away at Manchester United was built on.

Anthony Elanga was praised by Theo Walcott after bagging the winner against Villa and there were a number of top performers.

It proved to be a squad game with Willy Boly earning praise from Espirito Santo and right now the dressing room looks like a good place to be.

Pundits are starting to take note and discuss the club in more detail just lately with Gary Lineker changing his mind on Forest already.

Micah Richards hails two Nottingham Forest players that he likes watching

The pundit is the latest to wax lyrical about some of the Forest stars and it’s quite something to see the Reds in the headlines.

It’s been a long time coming but Forest are starting to get some respect following their Premier League exploits so far this season.

Richards has picked a couple of players out that he likes watching when he tunes into Forest matches, with Elliot Anderson and Nikola Milenkovic in for some praise.

He told The Rest is Football podcast: “Defensively, they’re really good, the big lad, Milenkovic, that’s him, he’s a good signing, we’ve talked about Murillo before but now they’ve got one big guy, one smaller guy, they’re stronger at set pieces now.

“I also like Anderson, he’s done really well, I really like him. He’s got good energy, he’s good on the ball and he gives them something different in midfield as well.”

Forest recruitment is now envy of the Premier League

That might sound a bit of a stretch but imagine how the likes of Wolves, Crystal Palace and West Ham might now be feeling about some of the players signed by Forest.

Milenkovic did cost Forest just £12 million after all and it’s quite something that the recruitment team moved quickly to get that deal over the line.

Anderson might have cost £35 million but when Newcastle paid £20 million for Odysseas Vlachodimos, it makes the deal sound exceptional business from a Forest point of view.

It’s no secret that Forest want to be more like Brighton and Bournemouth who have recruited well in the past and huge strides were made in that sense during the last window.
