Mads Hermansen had to leave the field after first half at St. James Park on Saturday, as we all did see with our own eyes how the team fell totally flat with the understudy Danny Ward taking over the gloves.
The uncertainty is huge for the most known reasons, understudy Danny Ward is in no way trusted as an alternative, but with Jacub Stolarczyk back in action this week for the U.21’s, it makes some promise
Daniel Iversen is also an alternative goalkeeper to call. Stolarczyk was the preferred cover last season under Enzo Maresca, having Danny Ward as the third alternative, Daniel Iversen spent time on loan at Stoke.
The club surely do not need a fifth goalkeeper to call on, so RvN must decide who to keep who to keep and not have more then three goalkeepers in the squad, we would have preferred two, with a U.21 player being that third man.
Mads Hermansen is possibly the only player at the club that has taken the level of Premier League football easy and enhanced his game to the next level, playing with solidity and safety for most of his performances.

If he miss the next game with that groin injury, Leicester manager RvN do have a dilemma, surely not given the gloves to Danny Ward, hopefully consider Jacub Stolarczyk or Daniel Iversen, but again a clean up among goalkeepers is needed. Ward is out of contract in the summer and Iversen has a god reputation at Championship level, giving solid impression during loan spells at Preston and Stoke.
The good alternative would to give Jacub Stolarczyk the chance to show his worth, the bad would to play Daniel Iversen and obvious ugly would to again trust Danny Ward. We just have to wait for a last injury report and hopefully Mads Hermansen can do the job.
We will see how this progress, as we certainly hope to see Mads Hermansen staying on as a sale would upset balance and one of the players that we hope to see long term. The club would probably be best keeping Jacub Stolarczyk, and letting Iversen and Ward to move on as soon as possible.
